Track Days and Driving Experiences
The purpose of track days varies depending on where you go and what you are going for. Some people book track days to arrive with their own cars or motorbikes to enjoy the performance and to hone their skills in a controlled environment and away from the dangers that lurk on public roads and highways.
Undeniably track days also provide you with the opportunities to do things beyond the prying eyes of the law. This is not what the Formula Racing Car driving experience in Thailand is about though. This is first and foremost a racing school where, under the supervision of your own professional instructor, you enhance your skills, driving technique and control of the machine over two intense days.
But the underlying theme is still the same and that is that track days are fun! They are about enjoying yourself in a controlled and safe environment. For Special Events such as Corporate Entertainment the course structure can be adapted to 1 day. Your group still attends a comprehensive briefing and everyone gets to drive. Group sizes are limited to 8 people and the onus is squarely on “entertainment” as a single day simply does not offer sufficient time at the racing school to properly teach you and your group how to become a race car driver.
How to become a Race Car Driver
Upon completion of this 2-day Professional Driving Experience you will have learnt a great deal and enhanced your driving technique considerably. While talent spotters probably wont be clamoring at your door yet to sign you up as the next Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell or Jenson Button, if you live in Asia or are a frequent traveler to Southeast Asia you will be able to race per say with the Racing School.
You will learn about racing lines, the nuances of cornering which are the crux of any race, when to ease off the peddle and when to step-on-it and the optimum gears you should be in, in each instance. After the course you will be allowed to become a race car driver in the racing schools cars attending track days in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Pro Race Car Drivers usually start with go cart racing when they knee height to a grass hopper and have already been spotted at puberty.
There is no shame in attending this professional driving course to learn how to become an amateur race car driver which opens doors to the incredibly exciting recreational activity of track days and formula racing cars in Southeast Asia.
Thailand Track Days
With its tropical climate Thailand Track Days are accessible all-year-round. While Thailand does not currently have a Formula 1 Track, the private track where our Formula Driving Experience is challenging no matter what your racing experience and it does test the abilities of even the most proficient drivers.
Not only are Thailand track days significantly cheaper than their American and European counterparts, they are also far more laid back, more often that not provide you and your group with exclusive track time and generally being in very close proximity to Bangkok the evenings are far from being an anti climax.
Thailand’s race tracks may lack some of the finesse found in the west but safety standards are still adhered to and your time is not rushed. You are essentially here to enjoy yourself and enjoy yourself during your Thailand track days you certainly will!

Location
The Car Racing School is located approximately 60Km west of Bangkok near the town of Nakorn Pathom and on the route out towards Kanchanaburi. The Racing School is located within 10 minutes drive of the track which is booked exclusively for your 2-Day Formula Driving Experience, meaning no-one beyond you or your group will have use of the track during your driving course.
This is rural Thailand, the surrounding area occupied by fruit orchards and rice fields. There is a local Thai restaurant serving local and very authentic Thai food near by and to overcome the language barrier our driver and guide will interpret your order for you.
There is no permanent catering on the race track but if you would like to arrange pack lunches and / or end of driving course parties and barbeques we can organize this to a very high standard and with a menu of your choice.
Given the tracks rural location some clients prefer to commute to and from Bangkok over the 2-days whilst others prefer to stay more locally. Either way we can arrange it and if local is your preference the accommodation is riverside, to a very high standard and bristling with facilities both recreational and business.
FAQ
So lets get this straight, you put us in a Formula Racing Car for 2-Days of timed laps, right?
Wrong! Be under no illusion about this as at no point do you get to do time laps during the 2-Day Formula Driving Experience. This is a practical car racing school that is conducted in real Formula Racing Cars and the course focuses on teaching you car racing techniques to make you a better, more efficient driver; race car driver or otherwise.
What am I Qualified for after completing the 2-Day Formula Driving Course?
Upon successfully completing the 2-Day course you can attend regular race meets and track days in the region as a racing car driver during which you do actually race and you can use the racing schools own formula racing cars for this. Hence the doors open to an exciting recreational activity as a competitive and amateur race car driver if you live in or are a frequent visitor to Southeast Asia. Separate Terms and Conditions apply.
How is the Formula Driving Course Structured?
The 2-Day Bangkok Formula Car Racing track days consist of a comprehensive one day briefing and fitting followed by a full track day. It’s as much about enjoying yourself in a safe, controlled environment and away from the public highway as it is improving your technique.
What about Corporate Entertainment Track Days & Driving Experiences?
For Corporate Entertainment and Event purposes only the schedule can be adjusted to one day complete with briefing and driving for groups of up to 8 people. This exception is made for Corporate Entertainment groups only. Please contact ZiZ Inspire with your RFP for a quote by return.
Are the Instructors Qualified to Operate this Course?
The Bangkok Thailand Formula Driving Experience course is run by Japanese Professional Racing Drivers who have taught professional driving in the UK during track days and driving experiences and who have raced professionally in the European Formula Racing Circuit. They deliver a wealth of professional car racing and racing school management experience and can do so fluently in several languages including English, Thai and Japanese.
Is this Thailand Driving Experience & Track Day Safe?
Our car racing school in Thailand has a clean slate in terms of serious accident and injury and every measure is taken to ensure that this continues. To have exclusive use of a race track anywhere else in the world would cost a fortune but we provide it and this significantly reduces risks. Furthermore you go through an entire days training before you are allowed anywhere near the wheel of a formula racing car. The crux is that this driving experience is not about who can do the fastest laps, you wont be offered the opportunity to see. It’s about controlled laps to develop your technique whilst sitting solo in a high powered racing car.
Is it a Formula 1 Track?
No, Thailand as yet does not host Formula 1 and nor does it have a full size F1 Race Track. This is a private track for private track days; not practical for a dog-fight but more than enough for the purposes of a racing school and the best part is that it is entirely yours during your track day, morning, afternoon and evening.
What do I have to Wear?
A full faced helmet is compulsory and can be borrowed from the racing school but if you have your own bring it! Other than that consider also buying your own car racing shoes so that you can properly master the heel and toe technique of gear change and you may also want to consider investing in a pair of racing gloves. Racing Suits and Overalls are provided by the Racing School.
Do I need a race-licence?
No! This is a racing school but a valid and recognised driving licence is required from all drivers.
Will I need a crash helmet?
Yes, a full face crash helmet is compulsory. Borrow one from the racing school or better still bring your own for guaranteed fit, comfort and hygiene. The racing school does not guarantee that it can provide a perfect-fit crash helmet and there is nothing worse than wearing an ill-fitting crash helmet for an hour let alone a day.
What about Insurance?
As part of the Terms and Conditions when booking the 2-Day Formula Driving Experience you are agreeing that you and all members of your party will have adequate and valid Personal Accident Insurance over the dates of your entire trip which includes the 2-Days at the Racing School and that your insurance coverage includes attending a car racing school in Thailand and all possible and associated eventualities. ZiZ Inspire.com., ZiZ Asia Co Ltd its Directors, Shareholders, Management. Itinerary
These are suggested itineraries only and can be customized to your needs:
Itinerary 1
2-Day Formula Racing Car Driving Experience Bangkok Commuting from Bangkok
Day 1:
You are your party are collected from your hotel in central Bangkok at 08.30 and driven to racing school that is approximately 60km from Bangkok, a journey which should take about an hour depending on traffic.
After meeting your instructors you attend a 2-hour racing school briefing from 10am to noon during which you will be introduced to the car and discuss the techniques that professional racing car drivers use to get maximum performance from their cars. Techniques will include heel & toe gear changes, racing lines and much, much more.
At around midday you break for lunch and we recommend using your car and driver to go to a local riverside Thai restaurant, not frequented by tourists, to experience real Thai food in a very scenic location. There will be a language barrier and your driver and guide will act as interpreter to ensure that your order is correct. Alternatively we can provide you with a pack lunch from Bangkok which you can eat at the racing school.
The afternoon is spent in the seat fitting in the factory to ensure that when you hit the cockpit of your racing car the following day your seating position is comfortable and perfect. There will be plenty of time for further Q&A during the afternoon and to get fully prepared for your driving experience the following day.
Day 1 will wrap-up at about 4pm which will bring you back into Bangkok just before the evening rush and road mayhem begins. You have the whole evening to enjoy yourself in Bangkok and ZiZ Inspire can certainly make recommendations for restaurants and evening entertainment.
Don’t burn the midnight oil too much though, Day 2 is intense!
Day 2:
Our driver collects you from your hotel in Bangkok at 8am and it’s a brisk journey straight to the race track for your full days driving experience which begins at 9.30am.
The whole day is spent putting what you learnt the day before into practice. It’s just you, your formula racing car and your instructor. Practice your gear shifts, heel & toe gear changing and hone your racing lines. Learn the skilled art of cornering, the key to any race; when to brake, when to step on the gas.
All this is done during stop-and-go lapping sessions where you complete laps of the circuit under the watchful eye of your instructor. During the stops your instructor points out your mistakes and where improvements in your driving technique can be made. You then blast off by yourself to put it into action. This is by far the quickest method to learn; you listen, go and do . . . accelerated learning in motion.
Your Formula Track Day concludes at 5pm Trackside catering can be provided upon request to include a small wrap-up pit party at the end of the track day. Permanent catering facilities are not offered at the track so arrangements for lunch on your track day have to be made in advance; either at a local restaurant or a pack lunch or part and parcel of any track side catering that you request.
